Overview
HEIFree is designed with privacy as a core principle. All photo and video processing happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your photos, videos, or personal data to any server.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Photos and Videos: All processing happens locally. Your media never leaves your phone.
- Personal Information: No name, email, phone number, or personally identifiable information.
- Usage Analytics: No analytics or tracking SDKs.
- Location Data: We do not access your location.
Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores locally:
- Conversion History: Records of optimized media, stored as JSON files in the App's sandbox.
- Settings: Preferences stored in UserDefaults.
- Quota Count: Free conversion count stored in the iOS Keychain.
- Format Cache: Detected photo formats to speed up scans.
This data is not accessible to other apps and is deleted when you uninstall (except Keychain data, per Apple's standard behavior).
In-App Purchases
We use RevenueCat to manage purchases. RevenueCat may collect an anonymous user identifier, purchase transaction data (via Apple's App Store), and device type/OS version. RevenueCat has no access to your photos or videos.
Photo Library Access
The App requires Photo Library access solely to scan and optimize your media. We do not upload, share, or transmit any of your content.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with an updated date.
